Hi I am 5 weeks out as of Monday! But I just got my first  T.O.M and gined 4 lbs. Has anyone else blown up like this. I am drinking water like a villan today but does anyone have a trick to cut down on the water retention?

You're already working the only healthy option I know of for combatting water retention: drinking more water.
Other than that and reducing salt (especially the hidden salts in processed foods), you could just stop weighing yourself when you know you are nearing your period. Don't let it stress you out.

Every month I gain and then quickly lose 4-6 lbs.  It is not fun when the weight comes on but it does eventually go back down.
