I got a surgery date!!!!

Congrats!! I am halfway through my liquid diet phase and it is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My mother being a nurse has filled me with horror stories from things she has seen in hospital emergency rooms.
However, I have complete confidence in my surgeon, in my decision to have the surgery, and I understand the risks and benefits. This has helped me to be excited and confident about my surgery date and I hope my positive outlook and faith will keep my body strong and my surgeons hands steady. You will do great!!!

I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I was scared, anxious and nervous before. I'm happy to say that my surgery went well with no complications. The pain wasn't nearly half as bad as I thought it would be. So far I haven't had any problems drinking or eating pureed food. Just remember to get up and start walking as soon as you can and sip sip sip. Your feelings are normal. Trust in your surgeon and you will be just fine.
congrats my surgery is april 12th. i am now on day 6 of my pre op diet and it really isn't bad at ALL, for me. The second day at night even though I wasn't even really that hungry I did have some bad growling and hunger pains but it was right before bed so I was able to go to sleep and ignore it. Otherwise I have been fine. Good luck to you and I too am extremely nervous but I keep reminding myself of all the benefits for every con that I let run through my mind.
