I really like her!!
At first I was a little miffed that the person I chose off of my surgeons list required 3 visits for a psych eval but now I am so happy. She was covered by my insurance so that's why I went with her. I had my 2nd of 3 visits yesterday and I have to say she GETS me. I have been in and out of therapy for 15 years and no therapist I feel has ever gotten me (with my eating issues). I guess, it's b/c she specializes in eating disorders and bariatric surgery. She is almost an hour away from my house but if I have any issues after the surgery, related to the surgery I will go back to her. She has even offered to see dh before and after to discuss any concerns he might have now and along the way. I just wanted to hug her yesterday as I was leaving and IRL I am not a hugger. lol It's a great feeling to know that I have someone to fall back on for support after things are said and done.
That is amazing. I am 4 years out from surgery and the one thing I am a staunch believer in is getting to therapy. I don't mean just before surgery- I mean get a therapist that you like and gets you and stick with it. There is going to be stuff that goes on that you will need the supprt. I am so happy for you!!!
