Ok, I am a terrible RNYer.  I had surgery on 3-30.  Food wise and the eating plan I am doing pretty good.  Yesterday I got in 65.5 grams of pro and 6.5 glasses of water.  Way to go, right?  But I have not been able to take my vitamins.  I decided that today I would suck it up and pull them down and take them come hell or high water.  Well I took the liquid mulit vitamin and I instantly was bent over my kitchen sink.  I nearly hurled the whole thing back up.  I had that sick feeling in my belly and my mouth was watering and my eyes were watering.  I dare not try the liquid calcium.  I did manage to stomach the freaking B12.  I know I would have lost more if I was able to keep up with te vitamins but they really do make me sick to the brink of death.  HELP ME PLEASE.  I have ordered some vitamins from BA and another company to sample but dsid not get them back yet.  I still have the damned taste in my mouth, I can't even drink my deliscious protein shake now.   ARGH!!!!!!!!

Flinstone mult-chewable is allowed by my Dr.  I haven't started taking my vits yet though.  I also bough some chewable Calcium and sublingual b-12.  Is this something you may be willing to try?  I know some Dr.'s do not like the flinstone vit....Hope things work out for you!

Flinstones are not good. They are lacking major vits and minerals. Switch to Centrum or like that.

They might be allowed by your doctor but they do not meet the ASMBS guidelines and are not adequate for us.

Centrum Chewable are not so bad. Also CVS brand - equivalent to Centrum - comes in chewable. I use them all the time.

First of all, take a deep breath. You are less than two weeks out and are doing well with your plan so far. Congratulate yourself!!

(Now, what I'm about to say is going to cause all sorts of people to want to jump all over me, but here goes.) If you're driving a Lamborghini you can't go from 100 mph to zero in a second, no matter how good your brakes are. The same is true with any weight loss surgery. . . you can't go from overeating and eating the wrong stuff for years and years and years to being 100% compliant 100% of the time overnight.  And yanno what? That's OK, even to be expected.

Your innards have been totally rearranged and no one can anticipate how your body will react to everything. Me? I am 2 1/2 years out and I still can't drink plain old water. . . I have to have at least some Crystal Lite or something in it.

You are doing wonderfully. As for your vitamins, try the samples when you get them. Try chewables. Don't stress about this, it will happen. Just keep trying and soon this will all be a memory.

sorry to hear about you not being able to keep your liquid vitamins down, but sometimes thats normal for some, mite have to wait afew weeks to give your pouch time to heal.

Good luck on your Journey, things will smooth out......give it time.

I get B-12 shots from my doctor...no pill to take.  As for the others you could try grinding them and mixing them into something (i.e. apple sauce)...which worked for me when I was early out.

Good luck.
