Do u miss a good cup of Joe
.....well, I did, until tonight. My daughter and I were sitting at the bar and I made my normal protein shake. I decided not to add ice tonight. So we are talking and she wanted a sip. I obliged. She said it tasted a tad grainy. I explained to her it was the protein and I have gotten used to it. So then I had a bright idea to warm it up.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!...Awesomeness in a mug. It was so delish. I was like, I am gonna shut that STAR place down with healthy Frappy drinks from my lil ole North Carolina trailer. It was really good. So since I have resigned myself to 2 a day...I can drink the warm one in the morning and the equally frosty one in the evening, or visa versa. AND, I have lost 20lbs. I am something like a Genius.
APPLAUSE LIGHT IS ON!

I was addicted to iced coffee drinks and frappes pre op. I don't do caffiene anymore so I have been making my protein drinks with decaf. Every morning I start the day with a protein latte. I really think it helps me with my attitude as well as my protein intake. I can't wait until the weather warms up so I can make protein ice cream.

I use a generic decaf and mix it with boiling water and then I take 1/2 cup of skim milk, one scoop of vanilla protein powder, a packet of splenda and some sugar free syrup and mix it up in a blender bottle and use that as a creamer for the coffee.

I used to be one of those people that hated protein drinks. I couldn't wait until I could get all my protein from food. Then I noticed that the people that seemed the most successful were the ones getting in lots of protein. I realized that it was going to be a long time, if ever, until I could get in enough food to get in about 100 grams of protein so I started playing around with them. I bought a boat load of sugar free syrups and sugar free pudding mixes and other things and now I look forward to my drinks. I have 3 a day and I love them.

The trick is to mix the protein seperately with cold or lukewarm water or milk. I use the blender bottle but you can use a whisk or even a fork. Mix it up smooth then add it to the hot liquid. I heard the liquid has to be under 130 degrees but I haven't had a problem mixing my blend in with boiled water.
