Anybody diagnosed with....
Gilbert's Syndrome either before or after RNY. For the last 6 months my labs have shown elevated bilirubin levels. All other liver function and CBC tests are normal. I have not experienced jaundice and I don't have a gallbladder. My surgeon said he has seen this before and believes this is what is it. I will be seeing a gastroenterologist about it. Just thought I would put this out there to see if anyone else has experienced this and what, if anything, they have to do.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you are aware that Gilbert's Syndrome is an inherited disease. Lots of people who have it aren't even aware of it. There really isn't any thing that you need to do medically for it. The recommendations are that you eat a well balanced diet and practice stress management. So really, what we should all be doing.
I'm sure your GI doc will be able to give you more information, but rest assured it isn't a life threatening disease.
Take care,
Michelle
