As usual, I started the day thinking it was going to be a piece of cake, and ended it wanting BADLY to go home.

Tomorrow I see the surgeon. I hope hope hope he'll let me have just a little more oxycontin. I think it works better for an even amount during the teaching day, so I don't have to take pain pills and get all loopy and try to teach geometry while being a bit looped.

I'm desperately glad it's a four-day week, and that I set up in advance for it to be an easy week.

I had a similar experience at OHSU when I had my rny -  a roomate from hell.  She was either moaning, talking to herself or the nurses 24/7.  The nurses also instructed you not to flush when you went to the bathroom because they had to measure everything but then they wouldn't come empty the the pans in the toilets.  The first 24 hours (to the minute because that is the maximum time allowed) I was literally in a hallway with many other patients waiting for a room.  I think I am going to switch to Good Sam if I need anything else done that does not require my bariatric surgeon.

This was the first time I ever had a roommate.  For my revision I had a room by myself and the nurses couldn't have been nicer.  This time I hardly saw a nurse unless I called for one.  Since I was able to move around a lot better this time I hardly ever called for one.  At least I didn't have to wait for a room.
