veggie soup

so i didn't realize on my liquid plan i can have blended vegetable soup. today i got a can of low sodium chicken and vegetable soup. i took out the chicken and blended the soup entirely. i heated up 2oz of it and ate it and LOVED it. finally something with real flavor(just wish i could of blended the 4 or 5 pieces of chicken i pulled out of it lol). my question is i only had 2oz of it because i was scared i'd hurt something. then i realized after that it's a liquid and it goes down easier, and i could of had more without feeling sick. i can easily of had about 6 or maybe even 8oz. is it bad to have that much "liquid"? if not i would like to heat up some more later and have it again. it was nice to have something with flavor other than water and protein shakes. i had some farina yesterday 2oz of it and besides that and a teaspoon of pudding a couple days ago, and lipton soup broth i've had nothing with REAL flavor. so do you think it would be bad to drink more of that soup?

also, i have a can of beef and vegetable soup. i know i have to pick out the beef but there is some barely in there as well. is barely bad for the pouch this early out. i'm exactly one week today. i wasn't sure if that's bad for me so i haven't touched that can of soup but i'm just wondering if that's blended if thats bad for me. thanks

I blended all my soups the first few weeks in my  bullet blender and it was fine. Being a liquid you have to sip slowly just like water to get more of it in but be careful and be aware of your feelings of fullness you do not want to overfill too early. I was drinking 60 ozs of water, coffee, a day from day 2 after surgery. I drank broth like water as well and added just a bit of mashed potato mix into it to thicken it a little and to get some more taste. The blended soup is a little different and has more bulk. Drink a bit and give it time to settle and drink a bit more. Test out your feelings of fullness and stop at that first sensation of being full. I blended all types of soup including beef with barley. I am still staying away from soups with rice though. Good luck to you.

i can drink 60-65oz of liquid per day easily as well. ever since the 2nd day of surgery when we were able to drink, so far i haven't had to do the sip sip sipping, i can take the same size sips of water as i did pre op and can get in my liquids and thank god for that. i am just nervous with the soup since i know it's heavier then water/regular soup broth. about how much blended soup could you have at about a week out. i still haven't been able to get the "full feeling" i wish i had some sign like tightness in my chest or something but i haven't. but i haven't pushed myself to eat more to get to that point because i'm afraid of hurting my stomach or causing any problems

If you don't take in too many calories/carbs with your soup choices, I say go for it!! Warm liquids always felt good on my healing pouch
