Thanks

Im not a guru.... but a couple of things I noted...

Your PTH is great

Your D is low

Your Ferritin is very low

You REALLY need your B12

and that's the level of what I nkow.

Yep.

From the CMP, you also wanna pay attention to your protein and albumin.

But for sure get your B12 checked and start taking a big dose of D3 - you need your D above 80.

Ok, Protein is 6.5 G/DL  (6.3-8.5) and albumin is 3.3 G/DL  (3.5-5.0)

How big a dose of D3 should I start taking and how do I get my Ferritin higher?

Thanks.

OK, you need to up your protein a little bit.

increase your iron to get your ferritin up.  How much and what kind do you take now?

For D3, get the 50,000 IU dry D3 from vitalady.com and take one a day for a month, then get tested again.

I don't take any extra iron other than what is in my vitamins.  How much and what kind should I be taking?

Protein has been lacking lately so I will try to get in more.

Also my doctor mentioned that they were worried about my copper being too high and my magnesium too low.  Are my values on those two anything to worry about and if so, how do I fix that?

Thank you very much.

The ASMBS recommends a multi with 18 mg iron twice a day plus an additional 18-27 mg daily.   So I'd start with that.  I like carbonyl iron because it's absorbed well and doesn't  make you constipated.

I am not sure about the copper.  You might wanna PM AndreaU about it.  However, I can tell you there is a multi out there that has no copper in it, if you decide you wanna switch.  It's Opurity, made by the company that makes Unjury.

Hi, Kelly!

Sorry to hijack but I have a lab question: I've been feeling a little more rundown lately so I went ahead and got my labs drawn instead of waiting till August/September...

Highlights:
Total chol: 126 yay and glucose 79 yay
B12:210
D: 109
Iron:31
Transferrin: 319
Total Iron Binding capacity: 475
Saturation: 7%
Sodium: 139
Calcium: 9.1
BUN 9
Creatinine .69
Protein, Total: 6.3
Albumin 4.1

Would these iron numbers or B12 numbers mean anything related to feeling rundown?

Be happy.

I'd be surprised if you weren't feeling run down with your B12 that low.  Are you depressed?  Have a poor short term memory?  Trouble concentrating?  Hands and feet falling asleep a lot?  You need to get that B12 up right away.

I don't see a ferritin level but your iron is very low, too.  I would expect you to be dragging.

On a positive note, your  D is wonderful.

But increase your B12 and iron.  Like, now.
