2.5 Yrs Post Op-Nauseous-Why???

Hello, all.  I haven't been around in awhile but I must say this is the first place I think to come for help, so a big thank you, in advance!

I'm post op RNY 1/09.  I've been on a lot of meds lately.  Two prednisone tapers, my regular vitamins, and recently added fish oil.  I also take Vicodin...some days, too much.  (I've recently been diagnosed with MS and am having trouble with my legs.)

I drink 2 cups of coffee every morning and probably 2 diet sodas a day but I also get my water in.

I've been pretty nauseous periodically throughout the day.  Last night I even ended up with the foamies.  Today I've skipped all meds...vitamins and all just to give my stomach a break but I feel it coming on.

Any thoughts or input????

Again----thank you!

I had RNY 10/08.  I keep nausea meds handy at all times.  At least once a week I have to take one.  I was diagnosed with an ulcer in Dec but don't think that is all the cause.  The feeling passes and I can live with it but do envy those who are never nauseous.

You need to see your PCP or weight loss surgeon

But in the meantime, some things that come to mind...

Do you have a gallbladder?

Are you constipated? That can cause nausea (who knew?)

No gallbladder...had it taken out during RNY.

You know...at times I am pretty constipated.  I did "go" today and have only had one bout of nausea.

Thank you!

Both prednison and vicodin are nauseating meds. Check with your doctor to rule stuff out. You may need some anti-nausea meds.
I get nauseated with blood sugar drops.

My foamies and nausea = stricture for me. And I am 1 yr and 8 months out. It has recently gotten so bad that I couldn't keep water down and I had to be hospitalized. It will be years of procedures to treat this and it never will be perfect. :( Check with your doctor girl. Also, I had to give up coffee....it gave me an ulcer.
