Oh girly girl, pooping will make you feel so much better.  You can certainly tell all the moms out here!

Regarding the protein powders and lack of $$$.  This is a problem, but call your doctor's office.  They get so many samples that maybe they have enough to get you through.

Do you belong to a local support group?  Putting out the call for help there can be beneficial.  I shared some of my WLS books with others in my group and plan on bringing in some calcium chews that I bought in bulk to offer to anyone.      Hopefully you can find someone to help.

I will pray for you and know that everything will come out all right (pardon the pun).

Hang in there girl! I'm 5 weeks out, have lost only 15# since surgery.  AND have been stalled for the past 2 weeks. BUT I've dropped 2 shirt sizes and 1 pants size so far. I also say....PUT THE SCALE AWAY! Weigh once a week only. (I know it's an easy thing to say and hard to do.) I also have trouble getting all the fluids in but I just keep sipping away. I keep a food journal of everything that goes into my mouth. Mostly at this point to make sure I'm getting all the protein and fluids I'm supposed to. I'm up to a soft diet right now. At 3 months out I progress to a regular diet. At that point I'll start logging the calories and carbs I take in.

Vitamins....having a hard time too. I ordered a bunch of chewables as instructed. I got Bariatric Advantage. I am getting them down but it's not a fun experience. I've started crushing all of them and mixing with some SF pudding. Seems to be a better taste then mixing with applesauce but it's still my least favorite thing to eat. Seems like I've eaten a whole meal by the time I'm finished. A vitamin meal. Yuck! Can't wait to start swallowing the pills whole again.

Constipation....I drink (2) double scoop protein shakes a day right now just to make sure I get 70-90 Gms. of protein in. I put 2 TBSP. of Benefiber in each and once a day I put 17Gms. of Miralax in one of them. Have been going every day but I'm going to have to add a stool softener to the schedule.

Meal size....I can only fit 2 oz. of anything in at one time.

Hydration....I do happen to like water at this point but I also drink crystal lite, some orange juice and milk.

I have no doubt that we will lose the weight. Try to look at where you will be one year down the road instead of next week. Remember what everyone says....IT'S A JOURNEY! And you're going to get there.

(((((HUGS))))) I think everyone has their "WTH" moment after surgery.  You wonder what in the helicopter did you do to yourself, but it's  normal, and will get better.  I still have those moments, but since I have been there before, and eventually felt better afterward, I know that I can overcome them.  Keep on keepin' on, you'll do it!

I know I'm gonna sound just like everyone else when I say "It will get better" .... But trust me, I promise you .... It WILL GET BETTER!
I hated my surgery for the first 6 weeks. I didn't want to get skinny, I wanted a friggin cheeseburger and fries! I hated everyone cause no one around me knew or could understand what I was going through. All my friends, including my husband wanted to go out, go to dinner, go to the track, go to the movies, etc .... and didn't realize all those public places were torture for me cause of the Food.  .... I HATED IT!
But, once I was able to add chicken into my diet at about a month out, everything slowly started to get better (Praise Jesus for chicken!).
I started to fill "normal" and happy again.

And the first time I went into Lane Bryant and zipped up some pants 2 sizes smaller than what I usually wore .... My hatred for my RNY slowly started to turn to like. Now I looooove it!

I completely understand about the constipation. I went through that SO BAD! I would sit on the toilet and cry, and sweat, and pray. Nothing.
It was crampy and horrible. So I feel your pain. But, I started taking Colace (stool softeners) 2x a day. AND PLEASE please please make sure you're getting in your water because that will help you go (Trust me). Repeat after me: "No water, No poop."
Also COFFEEEEEEEEE!!!! One cup of regular coffee will have me going #2 before I know it. I know we shouldn't drink it on a regular basis, but to help get you moving it's ok. So go ahead, brew up a pot!

Keep your head up hunny. Don't even sweat what other people think about your weight loss. You're not going to drop all the excess weight in a month. By month 3 everyone will be asking you what your secret is to losing all that weight. So just hang in there.

Oh, and also, don't let the scale rule you. Go by measurments and how your clothes fit. The scale is a fickle b*tch and never tells us what we want to hear. Weigh yourself 1x a week, max.

I hate reading posts like this.  It sounds like your surgeon/clinic/support people did not really prepare you for what it would be like after surgery.

We had it pounded into us that there were things that were non-negotiable:  vitamins, protein, etc.  being a couple.  They made it clear to us that it was not going to be cheap.  Vitamins and protein are expensive.

I'm sorry...I wish I had some advice.

My psychologist gave me the best advice when I would have a "pity" party...she would tell me that I CHOSE to have this surgery.......so I repeat this to myself when I am blue or down in the dumps.  I also only weigh once a week....it is hard when the scales are right there in front of you...so put them away !!!!
Remember....this IS NOT a race and we will ALL do well if we just work the plan.  Good Luck !!   You CAN do this.

I'm sorry you're feeling bad. It'll get better! You'll get used to smaller portions and wonder how the heck people can even think about eating huge plates of food. You'll also find foods and drinks that you can tolerate and even things you like. Most foods still make me nauseous, but I do OK with Greek yogurt (good alternative to protein powder!) and G2 (low-carb Gatorade). Water sucks, and I only drink it when I'm running because G2 leaks out of my water pack and stains my butt blue. :)  You can also use Crystal light packets in water. They taste pretty good, and it helps you get the fluids in. My surgeon's PA told me tha****er doesn't make the intestines move along the way flavored drinks do, and that's why water is so hard to drink.

Don't worry about what people at work think of your weight loss. They'll notice or they won't right now, but eventually, you'll wow them. :)  I'm a telecommuter, and I only see my co-workers once or twice a year. I saw them 6 weeks after surgery, and they commented on my new haircut more than my weight loss. But next time, I'll bet they notice!

Hey girlfriend!!  I feel your pain!!  I've lost 28 lbs since surgery and I started out way higher than you.  I think 23lbs is GREAT at this point!

I've been using milk of magnesia to keep things going.  Lady Lithia was saying the other day that being constipated can effect your appetite.  Maybe getting to poop will help getting in more food?

Have you tried broth?  It's liquid but not "water".  I really like crystal light orange juice.  It masks the taste of the "unflavored" calcium powder I take.

What kind of food are you eating?  I'm able to get in quite a bit of yogurt or cottage cheese.  Both have protein and are slider foods.

I understand the being pissed off because other people can eat normally.  I went through that last night!  Fact is we're NOT normal.  We made the choice to change our lives for the better.

I've been pissed off my whole life because I've always had friends who could eat anything and not get fat.  I've finally come to realize that I'm not most people.  I've been dealt this hand and I've got to play it.  For me chosing wls was my decision to see the bigger picture.  Instead of the instant gratification of eating whatever I want, I went for being more healthy.

I think you need to come off the guilt of "letting" yourself get this way.  Don't look back!!  Regardless of what got you here, you're here and you can change your life.

Take heart and take care.  We're all pulling for you!!!

It was several weeks before I could get in water and protein shakes.  Relax, eventually you will do better.

Also, I found after surgery how important food had been to me.  I still dealing with not being able to go out to eat and just eat normal.  I don't want to stuff my face, I just want to eat a normal meal!  Its very frustrating!  But...it is what it is and I guess I don't mind giving up "normal" meals for my almost 70 pounds!

It will get better!

Also, if you attend a support group someone may have some protein they don't use or didn't like etc and would be more than willing to give it to you rather than it go to waste  If you don't have a group find you one quickly my friend. Good Luck!
