last night(well early this morning) at 4am i got up to pee. went to the bathroom got back in bed and was happy i still had 3 hours to sleep before work. i turned over checked my phone and then all the suddon boom - terrible terrible cramping in my lower stomach from under my belly button down. it felt like there was a person inside me squeezing the daylights out of me. my pain scale from surgery never was more than a 7.5, this pain last night was like a 10+. i had pains like this once before post op along time ago after i ate something really bad and was in the bathroom all night. but last night i didn't feel gassy or constipated or anything. i went and tried to go to the bathroom but couldn't. i took 2 gas x strips an hour after the pain to see if that helped, nothing. i took 1tbsp of milk of mag b/c i was desperate in pain. finally around 6 i fell back to sleep for an hour before waking up to get ready for work. i still have some of the pain, not nearly as bad. i'd say a 5 or 6 on the pain scale and it's
tolerable but just uncomfortable. i went to the bathroom even though it wasn't much, after that is when the pain went down some

has anyone ever experienced this before and is this a sign of constipation since i've never experienced that post op. if so what should i add to taking everyday with my daily vitamins or should i just wait to see if this happens again. i've had a BM everyday for a week since exactly 1 week after surgery with no issues

Goodness, thats awful.. have you checked to see if you ate anything that would have done that? or maybe it wasnt bowel.. female or bladder problems? IF your constipated, your going to know it.. it does hurt .. and if this is what it is.. dont let it go too long before talking to your Dr. I had constipation..and Dr said I could only have suppositories at the time.. I was miserable.. I also have had the lower pain, but not from surgery related, it was my bladder..had an infection that I was doubled over was like labor pains.. Hope everything calms down for you..

I've had similar issues but on the right side of my lower stomache. I was rolling around on the floor in tears it hurt so bad. It's happend twice now and my surgeon doesn't think it has anything to do with my surgery. I'm going to my regular doctor next week about it because I do NOT want to go thru that pain again. I started out feeling crampy (like menstrual cramps) and then it just got worse. I have not been constipated since surgery either but I have heard you can still get trapped gas. I hope that's all it is. I don't have my gallbladder so I know it's not that. Good luck to you! If it happens again, call your surgeon!
