6 Days post op of surgery!!!

I am having a hard time sleeping alot at night but still so tired in during the day!! It was not to bad the surgery in all. They left a drain tube in for a additionial week which will be taken out on wednesday. I had a lot of scar tissue but all in all doing well. My mind feels foggie and well I think that is from the pain meds. So i have not been getting online to much!! I am trying to get all my protein in which is very hard to do. Started taking my vitamins and now just can't wait for the belly pain to go away so I can get out and start enjoying the weather:)

I know it is hard but try and do some walking, you will be suprised that it actually helps take away the tummy pain, I am nearly a month out and had hardly any pain at all got up right after surgery and walked the halls lol take it one step at a time Good Luck

I had my surgery monday. I just got to finially sleep in the bed last night i was sleeping in the chair since i got home on tuesday. it is hard for me to get all my water down and protien when i drink too much my pouch starts to hurt so i have to sip slowly knowing i am doing all i can. I walk daily and it does help  alot with the belly pain.

Let me tell you that it gets better!  I am 2 weeks 1 day post op and feeling much better.  I am now only taking liquid sugar free "tylenol" which helped me more than my pain medication I slept better and lost the foggy feeling. I went back to work this past Monday and it has been hard-I teach special ed-high school-and I did leave early each day (about an hour and a hald early).  I am now able to get 2 protein drinks down each day as well as 3 small meals.  I did not sleep through the night until day 10.  Good luck with your recovery!

I am 6 days out, surgery last Monday and feel GREAT. My last ANY kind of pain reliever was in the hospital, where they MADE me take it for the road(Hr dr). Nothing since then, not even regular Tylenol. I've been up and around, going w my daughter(3yrs old) here and there, doing this and that, cleaning the house(no vacuum nor laundry). Let me mention that I am 29 yrs old, husband who had his RNY last August, no med probs before, no complications during surgery. I think that most people simPly are milking it. If you get out and do stuff, you'll feel better. But yes, I do get tired quick and try to take a nap w my daughter.
