I had my RNY in Nov of 2011 I have had issues since then but in March I had a prob with an enod and the dr ripped my pouch open and it had to be reconstructed. Ever since then I have had issues with meat any kind of meat where as before I did not. One bite of meat sends me into stomach pains and eventually vomit it back up. I was wondering if any one else has issues with meat and how long did it last and any suggestions.

Meat makes me nauseated and sometimes it does come up and water also makes my stomach hurt.

So sorry you have had problems.  Here's wishing it all gets right soon.

I haven't had issues with meat but I did only deli meats for a good while.  Have you tried those?  Still tiny bites and chew, chew, chew?

if you had to have another surgery, I would imagine you would need to go back to soft foods for a while. your stomach has gone through double trauma so it may be a while before you can tolerate meat. if you try it, just make sure it's so tender that it's falling apart and really moist. good luck.

correction RNY was NOV 2010..... last surgery was 6 weeks ago and dr said to start eating different things. Any meat make sme sick, deli hamburger , turkey, even if it is in chile or speggitti I can not tolerate it. So I am mainly getting my protien thru Mucscle milk which is th eonly protien drink I can tolerate. I can eat mushy veg, cheese, scrambled eggs. When my pouch was fixed it was reduced to 2 0z. it was either that or they was gonna reverse my RNY.

Oh my! 2 oz. that's small. that's weird that you cant even tolerate meat in spaghetti. hopefully it will subside. it could still be because of the strain you've been through having two major surgeries so close together. it's probably going to take your stomach a long time to get back to where it needs to be. the best of luck to you.

I used to be able to tolerate meat, but I haven't been able to for about a week/week and a half. I eat beans, greek yogurt, jello with unflavored protein mixes. It's kind of a pain, but it works.

I remember eating hot dogs! Pop them in the micro and eat without bun. I had a low tolerance for meat for a couple years. I still can have trouble with pork chops and chicken.
