Best friend 2 months out--back in hospital--ulcer--questions

So my best friend that is only 2 months out was admitted to the hospital and they've found an anastomtic ulcer. Has anyone had an ulcer this early out and what was your outcome? She's in a lot of pain and they are not letting her have any fluids by mouth until her pain passes so they've told her she'll probably be in the hospital until Friday.

Thanks for any information you can offer.

I had it starting at about 7 weeks. I still have it and can barely manage with Nexium and Carafate. I was told that it can take months for an ulcer to heal.

I didnt get mine untill I was 3 years out but in the same exact place. But for me it started to Bleed and I almost died from mine. They treated me with Protonix but now I think it is coming back due to the burning pain I have been having. She right now is in the best place to be.. My prayers are with your friend.

Oh my, that is scary!! She's feeling much better but still no fluids by mouth until tomorrow. Then MAYBE home on Friday. They are not fooling around. She'll be in the hospital 3 days longer than with the surgery--maybe more!

She is on Carafate and another med I can't recall. Hopefully she'll tolerate her fluids. She's so sick of nothing by mouth!

Thanks for your feedback!
