I can eat solid food now for 2 weeks.  I want a burger.  I am low on groceries and next week i will shop accordingly.  Next week I will have a burger with cheese. Either no bread or 1 slice of whole grain.  yumm

try sandwich thins! They are 100 cals for both sides and have 6g of protien. I can only get a quarter of one piece in but this is what I buy for our burgers. The family has yet to complain. In fact the only thing they complain about are the acutal burgers sincec we have either salmon or turkey burgers.

Try Morningstar Farms or Boca Burgers - meatless, loaded with protien, THIN so you can actually get it down, and they come in different flavors. Easy to cook too (you can choose how you want it).

Me too!  I just posted on another thread that I've been feening for a cheeseburger without the bun. Unfortunately, my surgeon says no beef for a year because it is hard to digest, so...

Just be aware that ground beef is hard to digest for some, so while you think you might enjoy your burger, it might sit like a rock in your body for hours.  and yes I am speaking from experience.   I can do ground beef in chili, but nothing else.  I have been eating turkey burgers they come 2 in a pack by I think Jenni-O.  They are pretty yummy.

Good Luck!

i was thinking of forming the burgers king of thin and eating it fresh from the stove to avoid dying or hardening. Turkey burgers to me seem dry.

the turkey burgers have to be cooked just right.  something I can do, but my husband cannot.  :)

I have had a couple burgers...hubby measured them out at 2 oz pre cooked weight...I make mine with ketchup and mustard mixed in the meat helps keep them moist. then I dip in ketchup...my pouch really likes it. But I do it without bread of any kind.

I don't have a problem with beef and neither does my Dr.  I eat them pretty frequently, no bread, weigh the meat first, use 95% fat free.  If you want something closer to a BURGER, wrap in lettuce, slice of tomatoe, pickle, whatever condiments.  Just realize it will be tiny so plan accordingly.

I tried a burger last week. Only took a bite or two and was sick for 2 days. Stomach felt like someone threw a concrete block into it and bad bowel trouble. Too scared to do that again. 98 percent lean chuck, baked in oven with a slice of cheese. whole wheat bun mashed.... ONLY 2 BITES :( i was soo  sad.
