My oldest is very well aware of my weight and my surgery, subsequent weight loss, etc. I told her today that I was only 3 pounds from being out of the obese category and into overweight. Well this evening I told her I had to jump on Obesity Help for a few minutes and she said, "Mom, soon you won't be obese so you won't need them anymore." I almost cried. One reason was because of the sweet innocence that is a child's thought process and the other is that I am almost no longer obese!!!!! But of course I'll always need my OH family!

I tell you, kids can make you crazy, but sometimes they can really make your day!

Any comments from your kids you'd like to share?

Inching my way toward overweight,

Denise

My daughter did not live long enough to have profound thoughts usually, but she was funny!  In the car one time, she asked "Mom, is 'protect' a bad word?"  I said, "No Zoe it's not."  She said "What about stupid *****"  Um, yeah...that must be the words I used when driving.  A lot!  LOL  She was 4 and had some funny things to say/ask!

Oh my...I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your bravery and being willing to share. I'm sure there is much healing in being able to remember those joyful times.

Your story reminds me of one almost identical my friend told me. My friend, her mom (grandma to the little one) and her daughter were riding together. The little girl (5 I think) says, "Is Mother a bad word?"  My friend said, "No it isn't." The little girl then says, "How about Mother Fu@ker? Guess you could have heard a pin drop in that car!

God bless you sweetie!

Well I asked my 5 year old nephew did he remember me "the other way" (meaning morbidly obese) he said no, I don't. So his 6 year old sister chimes in and says, "Yes you do! - remember we used to play hide and seek under her skirt!". Now a little history - my neice & nephew could play hide and seek under my skirt I was so big.

So he looks at me and said - I miss your skirt!

Kids, gotta love'em!!!
Just a few more steps to wonderland......and believe me I am taking baby steps (ugh).
