I ditto MarilynT. I eat every 3 hrs or so. Small amounts. I'd say about 2 oz. And it's definitely hunger because I really find eating to be a "chore" now. Typically I have about 4-5 meals a day. I try to reach 800 calories and 80g protein.

I find that if I do not stay on my schedule that I think that I am hungry.  Most of the time it is that I have not had enough to drink.  I really try hard to stay on the schedule which is hard at times since I work full time and go to school full time.  It will get better.  I know my head was telling me last night that I neede a diet dr. pepper cherry...lol  FYI I did not have one.

I've had hunger since the very beginning (and was less than impressed because I too had heard that hunger might be a thing of the past and for me it wasn't).  Have you progressed to full foods yet or are you still on liquids.  It could be that you're on the edge of ready for the next phase of eating if you're not on regular diet yet.  If you're on regular diet, try something that sticks a little longer than fluids.  Swap it out for eggs or something and see if that helps stave off hunger until lunch.

I am now on a reg diet.  I am really working on getting in protein and water.  I do not like eggs or cottage cheese, so I struggle.  I drink my share of protein drinks though.  I think I need to increase my water and maybe that will help.

I make cheesecake yogurt.  1 large container of greek yogurt, 1 pkg of sugar free cheesecake pudding, a packet or two of truvia to sweeten and a dash of vanilla sugar free syrup.  I have 1/3 c for breakfast. and I'm good for at least 4 hours. I ate that his morning and left for work, had to go on a 4 hour travel trip, drank a bottle of vitamin water and then stopped for a bowl of chili which I was only able to eat 1/4 of. Been home for about an hour now and had a protien drink and will be making dinner in about an hour.  when I do feel hungry which isn't often I just drink something.

It may be related.  My surgeon had me on Prilosec for the first 3 months.  I have heard of some people who had hunger signs but after taking Prilosec they weren't hungry any more.  It may be your stomach having some reaction because you are still healing there and it feels like hunger when it's not, if that makes sense.  Are you on a PPI?  If not ask your doctor to put you on one and see if that helps.

Yep...that's wehre the "supposed's" get you in trouble.

Some folks feel hunger. Some do not. Some feel a different KIND of hunger.

But you are so new out it's likely that your nerves haven't healed yet. Or so folks keep saying. I know I completely rejected food after surgery. But I get hungry now. Not the same way I did before surgery, but I know when I am hungry and I eat.
