OT - For those with beloved pets...

I had to put down one of my beloved cats, Tasha, today.  She declined in a matter of days and I can't believe she's gone. Not sure how I've made it through the day so far.  I loved her beyond words.

So for those of you with furry babies of your own ... go give them a big hug and many, many kisses.  Never let a day go by that you don't fully appreciate them because you never know how much time you have.

Tori,  I'm so sorry for your loss.  Nonpet people just don't get how much we love our furry babies.  I have my two close to me right now.   Thinking of you.   Lori

My heart is aching for your loss too - we had to put down our dog last week.  Within a couple of weeks she went down hill so fast.  Come to find out she was suffering with congestive heart failure.  She was 12 1/2 and the most loyal friend you could ever ask for.  It helps to have two other dogs but my heart just aches for our snowee.  I truly beleive that there is a special place in heaven for our pets.

My baby boy, JJ, has congestive heart failure, too.  The vet said he had about a year to live and that was over a year ago.  I appreciate every day I have him.  He is 11 and I've had him since he was a puppy.  I worry every day that I will have to go through what you went through.  You both have my prayers.

This is my JJ.

Tori,

I'm so sorry about your loss of Tasha.

I know she is at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting for you.  I really hope she meets my Simon.  He's a really good looking Himalayan boy, and I miss him beyond words.

Today, I will imagine Tasha & Simon are best friends, and they just finished chasing a butterfly.  Now...they rest.

I am so sorry, I really am.  It's a hole in the heart, I know.

Well crap, now you made me cry. That is too sweet a sentiment...chasing butterflies. I always am amazed that people don't understand the pet bond--how can you not bond with something that loves you unconditionally, kisses away your tears, sleeps with you every night and never steals the covers, and never, ever talks back. My old girl is 14 and is suffering with incontinence. It is hard to watch them get old, but I'm so thankful that I've had the time with her that I have. And every now and again the puppy in her pops out and it just makes me beam to watch her prance up the driveway with the paper in her mouth. Big treats then for sure!

Thanks for sharing your sweet thought and so sorry to the original poster for your loss.

Best,

Denise

Yeah, I seriously think there is something wrong with people that don't like pets... I mean unless they've been attacked or bitten or something.

20 pounds lost during two week pre-op diet.

This is Mijo, my heart and soul.  We have several animals, but he is "the loved one" as my children say.  ha ha  He is a yr old and cannot imagine a day without him.  So sorry for your loss!

What a little peanut he is!  It's obviously how loved he is... and I'm sure he loves you all just as much in return.  Hugs to the lil man...

Yes, we love him so much!  A friend of ours rescued him from a dog hoarder that is mentally disabled.  They rescued three Chihauhau's from her.  Two were twin sister "teacup" chi's and Mijo was from a different litter from different parents.  The girls, though they were so small they could fit in one hand, were very dominant and would not let him eat, would not let him sleep with them, etc so they had to find him a home so we took him.  We call him our Chihauhau on sterrhoids.  He is SO muscular that most people don't even think he is really a Chihauhau. I do have a Chi book that shows some exactly like him, he just isn't the stereotypical skinny kind.  ha ha
