...a little background. I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been a SF Giants fan since I was forced :) by my 2 brothers to watch the games as a child. Life happend and I had hadn't been to a game in years. Well now having 2 sons of my own we started attending games a few years ago. Prior to surgery it was always a hassle; making sure we parked close, not being in the upper decks because of stairs, small seats, etc. We attended a game last summer 3 weeks after my surgery (July 2010) and it was rough. Another game in September 2010 and it was much better. Went to the game last night and it was wonderful!! Walked all over the park, stairs were not an issue, seats size not a problem (altho very hard as I have no butt padding anymore). There was a shirt giveaway (in the past I would completely avoid since there was never a size large enough) and I got a large which was actually a little big!! Went to the souvenier store and bought a team jacket (my wish forever); actually bought a ladies large not a men's size cuz they run bigger. This is representative of life events that are taken for granted by most and dreaded by larger people. More games planned for the summer and who knows what else!!

I know all of us have a story similar to mine.....what's yours????

I love that my appetite has shrunk down to human proportions. My food habits now feel like just that - habits. Not compulsions. Some are bad, some are good, but all are controllable for the most part.

Way to go!! My goal, and the reason I had the surgery, was to be able to play on the floor or wherever with my niece. She is almost 6 months old now and I CAN get on the floor and play!! I look forward to trying to keep up with her soon!!

I love baseball. Love it! We have had season tickets to the Mariners for many years. I just got too big to go anymore. I can now go and fit in to any seats. I still like those expensive big seats because I'm a Princess and like to be close to the action but now I can sit anywhere!

I think being able to fit into the world is a great gift of Rny

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my RNY because:

1.  I'm healthy
2.  I have no more knee pain
3.  I am able to keep up with my 3 year old grandson
4.  Shopping in "normal" stores
5.  My DH decided to have RNY (scheduled for 6/23/11)
6.  Walking without getting winded and having to rest.
7.  I have developed a new relationship with food.
8.  I actually like to cook now.
9.  I feel like I'm the wife my DH always wanted
10.  Like Niki - I found the real "inner" me.

I have been so very blessed.

I am perfectly content being perfectly UN-perfect

I love mine because no one should not fit into life, but I can now fit into the Swings ride at Busch Gardens. I can't wait to go this summer with my 10 yr old dtr. She will have me all over that park. I am ready.
