15 days Post OP Burning and Numbness in thighs...
My husband is 15 days post op. He started with numbness in his thighs....Now it goes back and forth from being numb to burning sensation....
When we ask about the numbness his dr. said it was from laying for so long during surgury..Others said it was from the shots they give you for blood clots etc....
Anyone have numbness then with burning?

I didn't have the burning but I do have numbness with tingling in one leg.
It was a lot worse in the months right after surgery all down my thigh. Now it's more just numbness on one spot on my thigh and at times it will tingle. I often check to see if it's my phone vibrating in my pocket!
I was with the understanding it's because of cutting/disturbing nerves. Though, honestly, that could have been something I read and didn't necessarily come from a doctor....it's been so long ago that I don't remember now.

we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

I'm a week ahead of your husband and I have experienced the exact sensations since a day or two after surgery.
My right thigh is worse than my left. It's numb 100% of the time on the outside of the thigh from my knee to my hip. If I'm on my feet for longer than 30-40 minutes I get an excruciating burning up and down the right thigh that doesn't relent until I sit.
I have consulted with my surgeon and primary care physician and they both say it is likely pinched nerves.
I was able to walk a mile last night for the first time without pain, and haven't felt the burning in a few days. So I think it may be healing somewhat. But the numbness is still exactly the same. And when I put pressure on the areas it almost feels like a deep bruise.
I've read so much about it over the last few weeks because it worried me significantly the first few weeks. I read in several places that this is fairly common in laporoscopic procedures. I guess it's just something we'll have to live with for awhile.

OMGosh!! ME, TOO!
Mine started several days after surgery, and was so painful I could barely walk. Went all the way down both thiighs to my knees. I called the surgeon about it because I was worried, and he didn't have an explanation.
I'm a month out now, and my left knee is numb to touch, no more burning. The right thigh, from about halfway down to the bottom of my knee on top of my leg is still numb to touch, and sometimes itchy "down deep"--I scratch, but really don't get relief.
My surgery was complicated by internal bleeding. I got 4 units of blood while I was still in the hospital, and when I got home I was terribly bloated (had gained 20 pounds from Wed to Sat), and my abdomen and sides were extremely bruised-looking. I assume because the blood that I lost had to go somewhere. I'm just now looking back to normal. So I assumed that the burning and numbness was from that, but I went to a chiropactor, and began to wonder if it was more from pinched nerves in my back from surgery and from sitting around post-op.
Wonder how common it is. More importantly, does it ever go away?
