So last night my 4 y/o son woke up screaming b/c he was having a nightmare. Usually, they are just weird and make no sense. Well, last night he was screaming and crying b/c his bad dream was that I was "shrinking and he never got to see me again" Umm hello? He knows that I am having surgery on my belly, but he doesn't know for what. Now I am a little freaked out. lol

Poor little guy! Maybe he has taken in a bit more of your surgery plans than you realize! No reason though to be superstitous about it, I'm sure your surgery will go just fine!

I'm also seeing from your numbers that you've lost some pre-op---he may be picking up on that too! No reason to be scared!

My son who was 5 at the time told me, after I had surgery, not to loose to much weight.  He didn't want a skinny mom.  I think he liked the extra padding for cuddling.

I always included my son in conversations about surgery.  I told him I was having surgery on my tummy and I would loose a bunch of weight, but, I would be healthier and be able to play with him longer.  I also made sure to tell him about my new diet restrictions so he wasn't freaked out by how much food I wasn't eating.  I never hid anything from him and I think that made the transistion to our new lifestyle alot easier for him and my husband.

All three of my kids were mad when I came out of surgery and I was still fat. LOL I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm 6 weeks out today and I feel fantastic! Sending you hugs and prayers your way.
