Iron Question??

It's good that you are concerned about your Anemia and are having your lab work repeated.  Be sure to get a copy of the results and have the physician's office explain your values to you.

As you know it is very important to take the prescribed vitamin and mineral supplements.  I recommend a fiber supplement mixed with water to my Bariatric clients.  Of course eating high fiber foods such as non-starchy vegetables and whole fruits help with constipation.  Drinking at least 64 ounces of water helps also since it helps to rid of waste products. Your whey protein supplement should also contain fiber.  Most clients take 2 per day in addition to 3 meals.

As for the type of iron required, please follow your physician's prescription.  There are contraindications against taking the wrong one forspecific preexisting conditions.

Thanks everyone... I will definitely be going to get the right iron supplement... I will also make my surgeon aware of the change when I see him in July... I find it hard to eat fruits to help with my issue due to trying to get in my protein at each meal... but I have finally gotten the hang of getting all my water in... yay... Thanks again for the replies :)
