Hungry and stalled

Okay I have been stalled for 2 weeks now, ever since my 5 month date and me hitting my halfway mark.   I seem to be getting hungrier which doesn't seem like a good thing, I have a protein shake in the morning at 6:30 and at 10:30 I usually have a protein snack and then lunch at 1:00 and another snack at 3:30 - 4:00 and dinner around 6:30.  These days I have been feeling hungry by 9:30 and whereas I used to be satisfied after the protein snack, now I am wanting more.   I have been tracking my calories and I have been getting around 700 -750 a day.  Is it normal to experience an increase in hunger around 5 1/2 months? also could I be eating too few calories?  I am making sure that I get at least 80 grams of protein a day.

I also thought this might be TOM related but it doesn't seem to be.

I welcome all suggestions. Thanks!

Sue

If I remember right , that was about the time I increased my intake. 700-750 doesn't seem like enough to keep losing. I would slowly add calories and see if your stall doesn't break. Yo may want to up that protein a little as well.

I'd say not enough calories.

Plus, I would not feel full on a protein shake for four hours.  Actually, I usually eat something about every three hours.

Try something more filling for breakfast, maybe.

Or, move the morning snack up, and move lunch up a bit, and everything else, and then add an evening snack.

just got home from seeing my nutrionist. i'm only 6 weeks out and he said the 500-700 calories a day are not enough. he wants me to only be losing  only 1-2 lbs a week. anything more than that and i have to go back and see him and the nurse. told him he was nuts but he totally insisted on it. he also said that is mainly why my hair is starting to fall out and i'm having dizzy spells...makes sense. try to drink less protein, eat more tuna or salmon instead, eggs are good......

I agree with the others -- increase your calories.

I'm just coming out of a nearly 5 week stall that started right around my 4 month surgiversary.  I'm not saying that increasing my calories helped immediately (it didn't). I think my body was just "adjusting". But I did eat more and excercise a little less (didn't intentionally excercise less, but I was sick), and I guess my body finally figured out that it wasn't being starved (AS IF! I still love food!).

Hang in there.  You'll get through this!

Thanks everyone.  It is funny I used to take in 1000 calories but then I found out I was having too many carbs so I revamped my routine and it turned out that I cut out a lot of calories too.  I think I have fallen into a routine and just stuck with it instead of realizing that my needs are changing over time.  I'll try to increase the calories to around 1000 and move my eating up so that I have time for a evening snack.

Hopefully I'll be posting soon how my stall broke and I am speeding towards my goal!
