I have lost pretty much half of my hair, and it doesnt seem to be slowing down any, I am ok with the hair loss it does suck a lot but its the least of my worries i know it will grow back.

I have noticed that since my hair started falling out, I have started finding dandruff type of stuff in my hiar, I have never had dandruff before so this is new for me and it seems to be getting worse as the hair loss gets worse.

I do not know if this is just me trippin on something or is this something other people have dealt with also??  I have tried useing selsun blue and head and shoulder, nothing seems to work, its not regular dandruff its different, (its not head lice either I had my mom check just to be sure

Has anyone else dealt with this issue if so what worked for you??

Switch to a tea tree shampoo and conditioner, Paul Mitchell is the best. Be sure to rinse thoroughly.

I would say your body is going thru all kinds of changes, it should pass. I have the same problem from time-to-time, I generally use something like selsun blue but there is stuff out there that you can find at Target or Walmart that is better for this type of problem. I use Denorex and it seems to help. Good luck.

Have you had labs done lately?  Dandruff may just be dry skin on your head, and some vitamin deficiencies cause very dry skin.  How's your vitamin D?  Vitamin A?

You taking all your vitamins?  Following the ASMBS guidelines for vitamins?

Is your scalp pink in areas where the skin is flaking?  This could be vitamin deficiency, eczema or psoriosis.  I am not saying that it is any of them at all, but some ideas to think on.  Even if it isn't psoriosis or eczema, there is shampoo for that which will help with the flaking and it has medicine that will work on the scalp.  Also, if you are not getting in all of your fluids, dehydration can cause this.

Try rinsing your hair with some apple cider vinegar.  Let it sit on your scalp for a few minutes then rinse it really well.  It will leave your hair feeling soft and help with any flakes.  I don't  use conventional shampoo on my hair and neither does my DH or our kids, but when the kids' hair would get flaky with cradle cap ACV was the only thing that worked.  I also use it to condition my hair.

JUST A QUICK TIDBIT OF INFO.  I WAS GOING TO COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL TO BE A HAIRDRESSER, GOT SIDETRACKED, BUT ANYWAY JUST TO LET YOU KNOW EVERYONE IN THE WORLD HAS DANDRUFF.  THE ACTUAL BACTERIAL NAME, WHICH I CAN'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW(MAYBE STAPHLOCHICI), IS RUNNING RAMPANT ON EVERY HEAD OF HAIR ON THE PLANET EARTH.  IT'S JUST THAT, DUE TO CERTAIN FACTORS, SOME PEOPLE'S FLAIR UP AND THEY GET THE DANDRUFF FLAKES AND WHATNOT.  IT'S PERFECTLY NATURAL AND CONSIDERING WHAT YOUR BODY IS GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW I WOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT THE DANDRUFF TOO MUCH.  I WOULD HOWEVER WORRY ABOUT THAT AMOUNT OF HAIR LOSS YOU'RE EXPERIENCING.  THAT SOUNDS PRETTY SERIOUS EVEN FOR SEVERLY MALNOURISHED PEOPLE.

Besides checking Vit A and D-3 I'd probably have my TSH, T-3, and T-4 tested.

Have you started taking sub-lingual biotin? Increasing your protein? My hairloss has slowed down since I started the biotin. Had to start using hubby's H&S shampoo for my dandruff. Only rarely had problems pre-op.

I wear my hair in a pony tail now. If I don't hair starts falling off all over myself. Can be embarassing.

I tried my best NOT to wear a ponytail when I was losing my hair. The stress caused by the ponytail made it fall out more.
