am I too big for a bike?

I started at 378. For my 100 pound loss my twin sister bought me a bike. So I weighed 278. I love my bike. I have a european style "easy entry" bike. It's a step-through design that makes it easier to ride.
Test them out. I looked at a lot of bikes before I found the one that fit me. Go to bike stores. They often have used bikes that are better than new walmart models. Keep looking and find your bike. Oh...and wear your helmet!

i went to  abike shop and purchased one that was 700 on sale for 350 :) I love my bike and i got a lot of weight on you ;) I started riding it at 390ish..... holding up great and we go on long rides few times a week!!! Have fun, i know i am!

I bought my 1st bike right about your weight.
The guy at the bike shop was really helpful with my concerns about that much weight on a bike frame.  His advice to me was to stay away from the super-cheap
