Canada's Wonderland
Has anyone gone on the rides at Canada's Wonderland being a size 22?
Going on a roller coaster with my family is one of my major goals and because I have been stalled for the last 4 weeks I am afraid that I won't make it. The website has a guideline of around 225 lbs but that is 17 lbs away and given my recent loss I am not going to hit that by the end of July which is when we are going to Canada. Anyway I am really discouraged that I might miss this goal since it represents why I had the surgery in the first place - to live life and have fun with my family.
Hopefully someone out there has been to the park and can let me know their experience with the roller coasters, I can't stand the thought of being kicked off the ride because I am too big.. especially in front of my family.
Thanks!

You should post this on the Ontario board. I think that Oknee went to Wonderland recently, so she may be able to help you out.

I live near Canada's Wonderland and I think that it all depends on the ride and you. For you it will depend if you carry a lot of your weight around your middle or thighs and hips. For the ride it will depend on the seats and harnessing.
It has been a number of years since I have been there and honestly can't recall if I was really heavy or not. I seem to recall some of the rides being tight when they harness you in.
I totally understand the embarrassment aspect of it. You have been proactive in taking steps towards living life to the fullest and having fun. This could only end up being a little speedbump in that ride, however, it could end up being a huge WOW for you. Let's hope for latter. Have fun when you come to Canada!

Thanks for your reply! I carry a lot of my weight around my hips which are around 52.5 ". We used to live in Barrie and one year we even got season passes for Wonderland but I was always afraid to try and get on a roller coaster so I would always watch my family have fun without me. I remember seeing someone get kicked off for being too big and it has haunted me ever since. It would be such a monumental achievement if I could get to participate!!
