2 months out, still eating baby food?
I have started my journey at 235, surgery at 225 and today I am down 49 pounds and weigh 186. Yes, Im happy with the weight loss, but I hate how much I get sick and there are days I wish I never had the surgery done bc this just sucks. I know everyone is different, but I was wondering what you ate at about 2 months out. I am more like 2 months and 1 week, but who's counting. lol. I vomit ALOT, 3-4 times a week and my vomiting sessions last for hours. Sometimes 2 hrs, sometimes 10 hrs. And of course I cant drink anything when Im sick like that, so Im dehydrated.
I dont eat anything I shouldnt. I have been told at 6 weeks out to slowly start trying EVERYTHING and it will be a trial and error kind of thing, so thats what I do. I havent ventured out to like steaks, bc I know it wont sit well, no real, every day burgers, no pasta or anything like that. But I cant handle things that everyone seem to have at this point like turkey, beef, chicken, fish, eggs, veggies. The only fruit I "eat" is watermelon, and its in quotes bc I cant actually swallow it, I chew, have the juices and spit out the pulp bc it just wont go down. Pretty much, when I think about it, Im still only able to eat baby food consistency stuff, if that. Chicken has to be SMOTHERED in something in order for me to be able to have a bite and it stay down. Eggs is just a no no. They called it that I have extreme dumping. Sucks! Yes, I chew alot, yes, I eat slow.
I am thinking to get checked for stricture. What do you guys think?

I am almost four months out and I still can't eat what most people can eat. Chicken and fish and eggs are out for me. I mainly live off of beans and yogurt and cheese. I did have a stricture though and it needed to be dilated several times. It sounds like you might have a stricture too so you should at least get it checked out as soon as possible.
Very shortly after the surgery I couldn't eat or drink anything at all. I was throwing up everything and I got dangerously dehydrated so I ended up back in the hospital. They decided to check for a stricture when I was in the hospital. Basic symptoms of a stricture are exactly like you describe. Not being able to eat or drink much and vomiting a lot. The dilations helped me but I needed to be dilated 5 times so it was quite a rollercoaster ride. Most people need one or two and they are fine. I think the reason I am still having trouble is because my body is just wanting to fight the surgery so bad and I had a lot of setbacks with needed so many dilations. But like I said my case wasn't average. I ended up back in the hospital a lot more than is common. I've talked to a few people from my support group and some say they just had a really dificult time the first 6 months or so but it got better almost over night. I'm hoping for that.
You may want to talk to your doctor about an different stomach pill. I was getting sick ALOT around the month mark. We did a scope and everything was fine. He placed me on Sucralfate and I have not had any trouble since. I take one pill 4 times a day (basically an hour before each meal and before bed).

At 2 months I was eating a good deal of yogurt, cottage cheese and refired beans. On rare occasion, I would have very moist fish, but 1/2 the time it would get stuck. Chicken was awful until about 6 months out. I still can't do eggs at over a year out. All the meat I have now has to be smothered in liquid or very juicy or it gets stuck. There are many kinds of meat that I still do not eat, including almost all kinds of pork and many cuts of beef. Steak works. Hamburger hurts. There seems to be no rhyme or reason!
I would contact the doctor sime you are having issues with somethin like watermelon...but some of the things you describe can be withint nomral limits.
It takes time. Hang in there!

I would check with your doc just to be on the safe side. I was not able to eat chicken until over a year out, and even then it sat like a rock in my pouch unless it was super moist and wet. I didn't try beef until almost 18 months out, and even now it'**** or miss - sometimes it sits OK, sometimes not. I had a VERY fussy pouch in the early days (thus, her name was "Sybil"), and even cottage cheese made me sick early on. I ate Egg Beaters or egg whites in the early days and didn't eat whole eggs until over a year out. Everyone's pouch is different, but I think should talk to your doc just for peace of mind. Hope you feel better soon!
