2 month post-op blood test results....
Now it's time for me to really start learning how to read my own blood results, and what each test is meant to measure! I will be spending some time today looking up what each test means. This was my blood test taken the day I was cleared for regular foods - about a week and a half ago, so I have begun to eat more variety now.
I know my Vitamin D level is dangerously low - I am taking daily dry D3 to help. Any feedback on my results would be great!
Thank you!!

I'm no expert and I'm sure someone like Kelly will chime in. I do know your D and B-12 could be higher. Kelly has posted about B-12 in the past and what low levels can do. I think under 500 is when you can start having nerve issues. I would add more B-12 to what you're already doing. Also, my D was a whopping 5. I've been taking Dry D3, 50,000IU daily to get it up. I'll know in the next two weeks whether it is up. It almost has to be. I feel so much better since starting the D3. You can get it from VitaLady.
I don't really know more than that. Sorry I'm not that much help.

You're right about your vitamin D. Are you taking a BIG dose daily? Like 50,000 IU?
Also, your B12 is a bit low. Below 550, people often get tired and depressed. Ideally, it would be around 900-1000. So I'd up however much you're taking a little.
There are a couple tests I don't see that you might want to request next time, like vitamin A, thiamin, copper and zinc. I also get vitamin E, B6 and selenium.

Thank you both for your feedback!
I am not taking that much D3 daily - I am taking about 2,800 IU per day (2,000 IU in a sublingual dot, and then 800 that is in my calcium). I will order the 50,000 IU from Vitalady because it is really low.
As for my B12 - I have been doing the 1,000 MCG sub-lingual everyday, but I will start taking two per day at different times to see if that makes a difference.
I don't go bac****il October, at the 6 month mark, but I will request those additional tests.
Thank you both again!

Yeah, you're gonna need a really big dose of D3 right now. Many experts think people without RNY with good D levels need at least 2000 IU a day - and most Americans don't have good levels. Everyone I know (people that have not had WLS) that had their D tested were low - my partner, my mother, my sister, everyone I know. Since we have malabsorption and you are so incredibly low, you need the big dose. We actually need our vitamin D at least 80. I know your lab report doesn't say that, but we do.
If you double your B12 daily, it should go up very nicely. And you don't really have to worry about taking too much B12, because you should just pee out any extra that you take in.
I think it's perfectly fine to wait until six months to get the other tests done.
