OK, I need to know more.  I usually use eggface recipes for protein ice cream, but my Cusinart ice cream maker is so hard to get the ice cream out (sticks to bottom and side of freezer bowl.)

When you make this:
1.  what did you freeze it in (bowl, flat pan, etc.)
2.  Did you microwave it to soften?  If so, for how long?

I'm making me some chocolate with PB2 tonight!!

Thanks so much.

Hi,

What is your icecream recipe using PB2?  I just got some this week and would love to know what to do with it!  LOL

Thanks,
Shannon

I would add 1/4 cup PB2 to her recipe.  I, personally, would also use unsweetened vanilla almond milk instead of cows milk.

As far as chemicals - guess you could omit the SF pudding mix - but consistency would be different.

I froze it in my GNC shaker bottles for about 9 hours, I ran bottle under ho****er to soften.

I ve always wanted to try her recipes, but I didn t want to buy an ice cream maker, This happened by accident. Protein shake gone wrong. Put it in the freezer and ended up with ice cream. Lol.

hmmm... as I read the recipe... I can agree that the ice cream has very low fat, if any, low sugar... and lots of proteins..

But hate to burst your bubble: healthy?  with so many chemicals added... I think not.

BTW: all the artificial stuff added to the mix make is taste good... but are you sure there are so good for your child? or even you in a long run?
After the RNY my diet was like everyoine else ... untiol I develped sensitivy to the chemicals that the manufactures use to make those stuff. Splenda - is one of them.

So now - I do try to make and eat high protein - low carb - helthy diet - as much as I can.

Ah but Hala, it is probably healthy-ER than what she might have eaten in the past and that is a victory.

The chemical thing has become an issue for me as of late. I am on this kick of getting foods as close to the way nature made them as possible. I feel a lot better since I have. I’ve even cut way back on Splenda consumption and I’ve noticed since doing so that I have less cravings FOR Splenda. Go figure.

So your advice is penetrating…slowly but surely.

Thanks babe. I am  glad you understand. And you know me - if I did not have a problem myself - that I developed a year of using the chemicals - I would keep quiet.
It is not what "I believe in" and try to preach about - but I am talking from experience - unfortunately.
I do believe that a lot of the "manufactured" product are being tested on us - the general populations.  Unfortunately for us , post op RNY -  the product we consume can go directly to our system (due to the bypass) and be absorbed in our blood stream.

Only months, or years later we may see or understand the results of the chemicals.

What Nik said.

And it's not something that we eat every day.

Captain Crunch - hot dogs, chicken nuggets - other standard kid foods - processed waffles - bacon - sausage are not really any better as far as having chemicals added or being altered by ariticial hormones. Plus they are loaded with fat, sugar and calories. This still way better IMO from an overall standpoint.

I know a lot of people are on the organic train and that is great and all. In an ideal world we would never eat anything with chemicals, pesticides, substitutes, etc. But reality is a little different. I couldn't afford to eat nothing but organic foods.

As with everything I think that sugar substitutes and other things in moderation are key.

Too much of anything can be bad.
