The dreaded "STALL"...what's the best advice?
Unfortunately, I've hit a stall for a few weeks now. Talk about bad timing. I made it to Onederland and now I hit a stall. For about 2-2.5 weeks I've stayed at 199.4 or 198.6 and I can't seem to get those scales to move again.
I guess I'm anxious to get those scales moving again because I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings since about 2007. I started to gain weight after I got married in 2006 and pretty soon afterwards the bands were way too tight on my ring finger. I try the bands on every so often hoping my finger has shrunk, but I know it's too big still to fit. I need to be around 180 or lower perhaps to get the darn things on my finger. I'm sooooo ready for those scales to move. That was a huge motivator for me with this surgery---I wanted to wear my rings again and I was determined not to have the bands stretched to fit my fat fingers. I wanted to get back to my wedding weight (actually the weight I was when I met my husband) which was around 163 lbs. It's a small thing to look forward to but I'm super excited to be wearing my rings again.
I'm a little over 4 months out (July 2nd made 4 months) and I've been losing weight at a good pace I think. I'm down about 71/72 lbs with about 49 more to go...my goal weight is around 150 but would love to get to 140 and have 10 lbs to play with.
I was wondering if there's anything I could do to help the stall along? Anything anyone found helpful to you to get yourself out of a stall? Any ideas would be appreciated.
I guess I'll just have to "wait out" the "weight" stall, huh? I'm not complaining though...I feel fantastic and I know the weight will start to come off again but it would be nice to see some movement on those scales--even if it's just a pound or 2.
Thanks everyone for your gracious help--as always. -Donna

I just posted on this subject a couple threads down but in order to get the stall moving, you need to increase your water intake, increase your protein and increase your exercise.
Shake things up a bit and change your routine. What I mean by that is if you are eating 100 calories a day, try eating 800 one day and 1200 the next rather than 1000 every day.
I saw your other post about protein. I hated protein powerds and drinks so from very early out I tried to get protein from food. I did start doing a protein coffee or Pam's Chai tea every morning which gave me about 26 grams of protein.
Foods high in protein I would eat often were Wendy's chili, Carbmaster or Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, tuna, beans, chicken.
The scale will get moving again....although I know how frustrating it can be when it's not!
Good Luck
