Im feeling like a failure. I look back at how bad I wanted my RNY and now that I have it, I dont regret it, but i get so tired of being in pain, not able to walk too far without my stomatch hurting in one place, ive lost 30 plbs, but think im at a stall, is it too soon for stalls and im only 3 weeks out? I dont know if im doing something wrong or not. I measure my food, I barely eat, I cant really walk, I was in the grocery store today and could barely walk thru it. the pain be so sharp, like gas but then again it feels like it could really be something wrong :( Im so scared. Im afraid that im not gonna lose any more weight, Im afraid that I wont be able to walk again like im suppose to, im afraid that I have a fatty tumor in my lower left fat part of my stomatch, there is a not there and it wasnt there before. Im a mess right now. Should I have lost more than what ive lost or am I at a stall cause I cant really walk and excercise like everyone else. Can someone tell me when they were able to start walking and excercising after this (RNY) surgery? Im not complaining about anything. For the longest I have wanted to be on the "losers bench" now im here, and im glad, I just wanna stay here.

FYI when i speak of my stomatch hurting I mean it feels like something is tugging at the pouch. If that makes sense.

I am sorry to hear about your frustration. It's something that a lot of people go through post op. Please understand this is said with a mixture of compassion and tough love.

If you are in pain, that hits higher than a 5 on a scale of 1-10, ask your surgeon for pain meds. People are different, but this surgery is hard enough to handle, without trying to live through serious pain.

A stall at 3 weeks is normal. I see postings about the dreaded 3 week stall, at least 5 times a week. Your body has been through a lot, it will take some time to adjust to the changes.

How much water and protein are you getting in a day. I personally believe that meeting those protein goals are key to healing, as well as emotional health post op. You will feel better if your body is getting what it needs.

Toss the scale, focus on hitting your protein and water goals, and ask for help to manage the pain. Call your surgeons office, their job doesn't stop when they roll you out of the OR. You or your insurance company paid a lot for this surgery. You are the customer in this arrangement.

You have to be patient friend, this is a process and we all will go through different things. My doctor told me to start out walking for 5 minutes and work my way up, and build from there. I told you once before quit being so hard on your self and take it day by day. Even though we lose weight fast, this is not a quick fix, It is going to take time. So be patient. Keep your head up and I will continue to keep you in my prayers. OH! Congratulations!!! U Did It! Last we talked, you were having problems and I see you worked through them. See, take it day by day.

My surgeon had me walking several hours after surgery in the hospital.  When I got home, I began walking the next day. I'd walk up my block about 2 houses (200 ft) and then back. I did this a couple of times a day for 2-3 days. Then I went up 4 houses, etc. , increasing until I could make it around the block, some 1 1/4 miles.  I did this walking routine at least once daily for my first 2 1/2 years.  At over 5 years, I prefer to ride my new bike.  Some newer post ops enjoy bike riding--just make sure you get one that can deal with your current wt.  These bikes will likely not be at Walmart.  Water aerobics are offered at YWCA's and a lot of gym clubs.  You may still have some surgical gas, if you havn't exercised much, and that may be the source of your pain.  I did walking right away, and my surgical gas dissipated over a few days. I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow (RNY) and have only lost 25lbs (suppose to loose 168lbs), so CONGRATS on your 30+!!!!!

I am sure the stall out if normal.  I have been stalled for about a week 1/2 now and I am wokring out 3 - 4 times a week at the gym!  In regards to your pain, I would say CALL YOUR SURGEON!  you should not be in so much pain so far out!

Best of luck to you!
