My doctor told me that the 2nd day is the worse and she was so right.  It was a night and day difference on the 3rd day.  I was still in pain, etc. but no where like day 1 and 2.   To help with the pressure, walk it really does help.

It is so hard right after surgery. Your pain could be gas so get gas x or something like it and walk as much as you can. It will get better. Also make sure that you take softeners with your pain mess since they are constipating.

I understand what you are going through. The first two days after I had RNY, I felt like I was in Hell. The gas pain was throbbing throughout my body.  The soreness will gradually get better over the next few weeks. Stay strong and believe that things will get better, because it's true. God bless you.

Thanks everyone for your replies and support- it really helps! I'm up and sipping now. Going to take my am meds then go for a walk. Keeping my fingers crossed today will be a little better. Also, trying to remember why I did this so I can focus on the big picture instead of these few difficult days. Again, thanks for the support... :)

For your first few days, take your pain meds every 4 hours.  It really helps keep the pain away and the extra stress that you don't need from the pain.  I am 3 1/2 weeks out and still have some pain, but very bearable.  I just bought a shirt a size smaller than I wear.  It felt great.  You'll be feeling better soon.
