Hair
I am being told that it is possible that my hair could thin and break for a few months. I have been told about and starting biotin. But, my question is this--should I refrain from dyeing my hair during that time? I started getting highlights about 2 years ago and last got them end of April. I am due the end of August, but wonder if I should wait and give my hair a rest.
any thought?

Hi Shannon,
I color my hair religiously because I have really pre-mature gray and I'm not ready to give in at 38. I would stay with a lighter color just in case it does get lighter but if you manage your protein you should be fine. I actually just colored mine for the 2nd time since surgery yesterday and have had no problems with it.......OTHER THAN I THINK WHOEVER BOXED THAT COLOR WAS DRUNK. It is NOT medium brown!!! LOL My DH said the "Elvira" look was hot.

I don't. My hair is falling out but I am religiously dying and highlighting and getting it trimmed every six weeks. It makes me feel better and it looks better.
I am taking the Biotin too; and it seems to be working. But it does require me to wax my eyebrows and lip more frequently, lol. And legs!!!

It is more than just a possibllity. I started taking Oceanic Silica and Biotin months before my surgery and my hair started falling out by the handfuls at 3 months and 2 months later I am still losing it daily. My hair has never been this thin in my life. I was hoping I would be the exception and not have to go through this, but no so. The good news is that no one has reported becoming permanently "hair impaired" following surgery. It does come back. I waited several months after surgery before I colored my hair. And I finally did it because all my new growth around my face was completely gray making the thinning look even worse!
