Final pre-op visit to my surgeon office July 19,2011

WOW I got approved on Fri. Jul. 15, 2011 and I get the call this morning that they want to set up my final pre-op appt at the surgeons office. I will have my surgery date when I walk out of there tomorrow. OK this is REAL, I am finally getting there. BOY OH BOY am I ever feeling a bit queasy. Not scared persay, more like apprehensive (does that make sense?) LOL!!! I was talking to the DH and he sat me down and told me to breathe or I was going to end up passing out. My mother in law needed help getting her errands done today and I STILL have not told her. I think she suspects though. I feel bad for not telling her, but she likes to broadcast EVERYTHING and right now I do NOT need people calling me up trying to talk me out of it because of the horror stories they think are gospel. I will tell them all AFTER I get it done. And yes I know for a fact they will call and do that because they all did it when a family friend was considering it. He did it anyhow but I just do not want to bother with it. NO SHAME here.

So........
guess we will know this time tomorrow when I am going into the twilight.

 Congrats.  my surgery is wed morning and i have only told my kids and my mother for the same reasons.  i dont need everyone in my town trying to talk me out of doing what i need to do.

Yay! Congrats on your final pre op appointment! I have my final consult this Thursday. I was hoping to have insurance approval before then, but unfortunately they said they need more info from the dr, so i probably won't have it by then.

I'm in the same boat as you.. i have not told anyone on my husbands side other than his sister and she seemed less than thrilled about it and told me to definitely not tell their mother until after.
I do feel bad not telling her, but i need to keep my sanity and she is totally against WLS.
