i had lapband almost 3 years ago & was unsuccessful. so i had it removed & converted to rny bypass last month. i have a few close online friends that have also had gastric bypass & they have been so wonderful with all of my questions, but ive often come to this board in the past, so i figured id do it again!

i did find a post about weight loss stalling. im on my second stall & im not even a month out yet! it is very disheartening, but i am happy to see im not the only one. my friends assured me my weight IS going to go down, but after failing with the lapband im terrified im just going to stay over 300lbs forever! i do notice a difference in the mirror & with how i feel. my husband & children keep telling me i look smaller, i just wish i would see it on the scale. i realize its not healthy to focus on the number, but how do i not?

anyhow, any insight you could provide would be wonderful! & i look forward to getting to know you all better.

I know how you feel! I have only lost 25 lbs since surgery on MAY 13th!!! But My family and friends all say how I look a lot better and smaller! I try not to go by the number on the scale! I take measurements!!! My scale is my enemy!! I have been reassured mutliple times on how everything will work its way out!! Take measuremts and you will be shocked! I have already gone from a 26 to an 18!! With only losing 25 lbs!! :)

What's worth the PRIZE is ALWAYS worth the FIGHT!

I am 5 weeks out and just came out of a 2 1/2 week stall.  My suggestion to you is focus on non weight things - I noticed I lost 5 inches on my waist, and dropped from a 26 to a 22 durning my stall.  This week I also dropped 6 pounds.   Maybe focus on exercise and fitness goals,  etc.  Hide your scale if you have to.  My hubby puts mine up and gets it out once a week, or I would be hopping on that thing every chance I have.

Here is a link to my post from this week regarding my stall.

Good luck and keep up what you're doing.  The weight will come off.  Focus on the positive!   You can do this!

My doctor said that because I was a revision (lapband to RNY), that I would loose it slower and see more stalls than non revision patients.  If you just keep following the rules of your tool though, it does come off.  I started to see it more after the second month, and by the fourth month I really stopped being so concerned about the scale, and just really started to enjoy how good I felt with all my new energy.

i asked my husband to hide the scale, but hes just as scale concious as i am so all he did was move it farther under the dresser, LOL. not didnt help much. i am making an effort to not step on it, my goal is to only step on it on mondays, so far i fail! haha.
