What does the smell of food do to you now?

My mom cooked bacon the second day I was home from the hospital.  I laid on the couch and cried.  I didn't want it, it was making me sick!  I'm super sensitive to smells now even at more than 3 months post op.  It's probably in my head, but I can smell grease and that really makes me sick.  Like somebody else said, sometimes I'll be cooking something and by the time it's done, I can't stand the thought of eating it.  Anything that smells really strong totally turns me off now.  I went to the movies for the first time on Saturday and didn't want popcorn at all.  Luckily it didn't make me sick either.

PMS makes me want to graze and eat carby things.  I've managed to stick to fruit but it was hard.  I GAINED 5lbs my first TOM after surgery so now I drink like a fiend and that also helps the PSM cravings.

Five years out from surgery and I enjoy every smell prior to surgery.  I love the smell of fresh bread, hot apple pie and steak on the grill.  I eat a little steak, Some times a bite of the apple pie and do not look at the bread.  Most breads are not kind to me.  But, I never fully tempt faith.  I avoid all Krispy Kreme Donut Shops.  After all, I am only human.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm learning that one size does NOT fit all and what one person experiences may be the total opposite of another's! Either way, it answered my question. I'm sure I'll have a million more!!! Again, thanks!
