4 weeks post op tomorrow and went out to dinner for the 1st time tonight!
I can still only have broth, pudding, yogurt, soup and mashed potatoes and of course protein shakes. I check the menu ahead of time and decided on my "meal" of mashed potatoes. The only soup they had was onion and I didn't know how the pouch would handle the onion and the cheese. All I can say is I'm a really cheap date!! LOL 2.47 for my meal. My friends kept saying how bad they felt and finally I said "listen, I don't feel bad. You feel worse than I do. Do you think my husband and kids haven't eaten in a month?" They calmed down and we all enjoyed our meal. Those mashed taters were the best mashed taters I have every had! It feels really great to go out to dinner with my friends this early out and still be satisfied. Someone else put this in a post before most of use didn't even really taste our food. But have about 1/4 of a cup of taters I was able to savor every bite. My friends asked me a ton of questions and of course I told them everything b/c being in the medical field for almost 15 years prior to having babies, I just love it. My friend actually said "I can totally see that this is your PASSION, you need to go back to work or back to school." While, I do miss working I have to stay home with the twins. Plus I feel I am really lucky to be able to take this time to focus on myself. Well as much as I can having a 4 y/o and 2y/o twins.
I love this site b/c I never would have thought it possible to go out to eat 4 weeks post-op and really enjoy my meal and experience.
