Sabotage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The worse thing ever has happened to me. I am stalled for about a month now giver or take. My dr is expecting me to be UNDER 200 by Aug 23rd. At 6 weeks he told me when I asked about my diet that I was cleared to have anything that did not irritate my belly. He said it woulod be a long process of trial and error to see what would be ok and what would not. So I began a long trial and error period of trying different foods,. it was thru this time I found out I do not have a sensitivity to ANYTHING. Not sugar, not bread or crackers, not fried foods, not sodie pop, not ANYTHING. Not even ALCOHOL!!!!!!!!!!!
Did he really surgically alter my digestive system like my insurance paid him to do. Have I been drinking protein shakes for nothing. What the frigg?
So I am not sure where the blame fall for the sabotsge, but I am going to make it my life's work to lose this damned 21+/- pounds befor Aug 23rd. Thats 33 days. If anyone has ideas to help, please let me know. I know we should not compare ourselves to others but its hard. I have watched one member who had surgery 2 weeks befor me and she has lost 95lbs. I think I am going to.....(well I just did it. I took all my DEVIL foods and put them in an airtight bucket and put them in the spare room with my daughters name on it)
I am sure I have partly sabotaged myself eating all my DEVIL foods, even in minute portion sizes. I know I am rambling now, sorry, I just had to share with someone. I am sure someone will just put me thru the ringer, but trust me I am beating myself up. I am bruised all over.
On a happy note. I can wear an XL vs the 3-4 x's I was wearing. Kisses

You doing well in the weight loss department. And I am glad that you are "awake" enough to know that eating the wrong foods will only hurt you in the process.
Just becasue you can eat them and tolerate them - it does not mean you should. Specially taht you are so determined to lose the weight. The farther from the surgery - the harder it gets. Trust me.

Morning Hala, I am so freaking mad at myself. I remember how excited I was to be able to get surgery. Now I am nearing my 4 month mark and afraid I will be one of the ones who is broken. I have a lot of work to do. I actually stopped in the middle of writing that post and had a ong convo with my daughter and packed up all my DEVIL foods. Even the can of Pringles I bought 2 days ago. Ugh!!!! I am on a mission now. Love you, thanks for the encouragement. Norma
Ok....first of all, get rid of the devil foods. If you are like me, even if they are locked up, you still know they are there and accessible! They gotta go. Stop beating yourself up, we all do it. Just get back on the horse every day and continue on.
Secondly, 21 lbs in 33 days is alot. Probably doable though if you really buckle down. I would like to lose 19 lbs by that time as well to be under 200 lbs when football season starts. I tell you what...if you want a support buddy because Lord knows I could use it...we will do it together. Just PM your info and we will get started. Maybe we could do it as a team!!!

Okay from what I can read you are some how expecting your pouch to tell you what you should be eating? You are expecting to have consequences to eating bad things?
Didn't you read anything about a post op diet? Don't you have a plan if some sort? Are you focusing on protein first and limiting your intake of carbs and sugary foods?
You should be eating for Heath and nutrition with a focus on low fat sources or protein, fruits and veggies. The junk that you mentioned shouldn't even be in the picture if you want to make the most of your surgery.
Focus on low fat chicken, fish , cuts of lean meat, yogurts, low fat dairy, veggies and fruits. Limit anything that is processed in a factory, eat clean and you'll maximize loss, keep out the sugar as much as you can. Cut out processed products. Shop in the outsides of the supermarket.

SNACK, SNACK, GRAZE, GRAZE, ORDER, ORDER, ORDER, EAT, EAT, EAT. ARGH!!!!!! This weekend i will really try to do what I do during the week. Thanks for the advice. Norma

How would you find this out unless you were eating these foods? BAD GIRL! Here is your virtual slap on the wrist: SLAP!
Now get back to eating on plan (See Dawn's post above me) and you'll be back on track!
YOU CAN DO THIS!

ok first of all you have lost a ton of weight you should be proud! You are doing great! Secondly you should feel lucky that you can eat whatever you want.. I haven't found anything I can't eat either.. which I think is wonderful, it makes this "SHORT" weightloss phase a little more challanging because I'm tempted by things but lets face it do you want to spend the next 60 yrs not being able to eat and enjoy foods you love IN MODERATION?
For right now get rid of all that food in your house.. it is hard to not eat it when it's there! Secondly if I were you I would just NOT order food at work.. I would bring stuff in..I always have a jumbo bag of beef jerky in my purse as well as a protein bar.. if you want to graze and snack pick foods like that.. beef jerky is high in protein, chewy and low in calories.. it's a great snack!! You know what you need to do, so.. JUST DO IT!!!!

You found out the secret- Most people can eat whatever they want. The pouch is just a tool and it is very easy to out-eat it.
Now pick yourself up and keep going. You have lost a lot so far.
I am worried that you are setting your goal too high and will give up when you can't meet it. (because that is what I do) Set your goal reasonably. You are 5 mos out? How about 10 lbs before the appt. That woud be a normal WLS loss in a month. If you lose more.. BONUS!
Your doc WILL NOT be mad at you for not losing 30#. He was encouraging you to keep things up and keep losing. I would be willing to bet he didn't write down "pt will lose down to ........ by the next appt"
Try to chill and get back on track.
