No one noticed???
No one said much of anything until I was down almost 50lbs. I walked around in very baggy clothing becuase keeping up with sizes was too $$. Once I was within 20 lbs of goal and had purchased clothes that fit, suddenly everyone was telling me I was too thin.
I agree with others....could be a combination of things...some feel it is impolite to comment...your clothing could be ill fitting and you true size is covered up....some people really just don't pay that much attention until you have dropped a huge aount of weight and look vastly different.

Well I hate to be the barer of bad news but I lost 75 lbs and no one notices. My husband swears you can tell from the back(He always knows just what to say lol) who wants to be noticed from the back? Then to make matters worse now everyone that was there says yeah!! you really can notice from the back!My 12 year old son who has no problem being rude and brutally honest tells me ya know mom!You can really tell in your hands.Im gonna just go with people dont know what to say. Most don't know I had surgery
Holly, you are always upbeat and positive. Don't let this get you down. Like most PP have said, It is in fact considered poor etiquette to comment on ones weight. Plus, I mean this in the nicest way possible, we had this surgery for US, not for the pats on the back or the atta girls from other people. Do not let others define or dictate your own happiness. I learned that a long time ago. So you keep on rockin your RNY and know that WE are here for you. Even if your friends are a bunch of meanies.
LOL (((hugs))) Shelly.

I'm sorry you felt let down, but I have to say in their defense, a person's weight is such a sensitive subject that I myself will never, ever bring up someone else's perceived gains or losses.
If they look like they've lost weight I will say something like, "Wow, you look extra-great today. Is there something you're doing differently?" And of course if they look like they're gaining I keep my big trap shut. No one needs to hear that.
Please scan over how many different "I can't believe s/he SAID that to me, personal comments are rude and disrespectful!" posts there are on this forum, and try not to feel too badly about people who may simply have wanted to avoid a potentially awkward comment.
And congratulations on your loss!
