I may not be a "dumper" BUT....
Please be aware that even if you do not dump regularly - it can happen!
I do not eat sugary foods or test the limits on fats. But I have had 2 dumping episodes in the past 2 years.
First time - I had my normal protein shake in the morning, but for some reason was very off schedule. My usual 6 am shake was pushed off until 9 am or so. I had a serious episode - the doctor said that even though I am not lactose intolerant, the "hit" of lactose after an extended period of not eating or drinking (overnight) triggered the dumping.
Yesterday, I had a "near perfect" day of eating. Dinner was a little bit of grazing with some leftovers (chicken, a few nuts, some fruit) - followed by some no sugar added ice cream which called from the freezer. And....wow. It hit me like a ton of bricks - flushed, sweaty, abdominal cramping, feeling almost queasy....took me out of commission for the rest of the evening. I know it was the sugar alcohols, but they have not bothered me in quite that way in the past!
And so, a word to the wise. You may go for a long period of time without any problem - but your body reserves the right to surprise you every so often.
As for me? The only SFIC I am eating is the stuff I can make myself! And it's Quest bars only from here on out - no sugar alcohols there!

Yesterday it was 105 degrees and I was setting up my classroom. I ran out of water so I went to the local McDonalds to get a big huge glass of unsweetened ice-tea. My doctor said I can have one or two glasses of tea a week as long as that is not ALL the liquid I drink in a day.
I ordered it, but it came up on the screen as sweet tea, so I told the lady OH NO regular NON sweet tea, which by the way was $1 more then the sweet tea....whatever.
I got the tea, added 2 splenda, than drank some. I thought it tasted pretty sweet....I was confused since usually splenda is not that sweet. But I never really drink McDonalds ice tea so I guess I just went with it. I drank about 1/3 of it when it hit me....HARD! It WAS sweet tea and it put me into a dumping episode that was the worst I ever had!
I was so upset! I had so much work to do yesterday and it had to get done. I had to work though the craps, sweating, and other stuff! Horrible.
On my way home I stopped at that McDonalds, got the manager and read that man the riot act! Showed him my receipt. He offered to give me a normal ice tea, I told him he could shove it where the sun doesn't shine....
