Your best bet on cake might be a sugar free angel food cake. It also has no fat.

BUT.

All types of sugar free/no sugar added baked goods are high in sugar alcohols. I am very sensitive to these, and get a lot of side effects (queasy, bloated, very excessive gas, can have a laxative effect). So....tread lightly!

For my birthday I stick with sugar free ice cream, and even then have to play it safe on which brand I choose.

And my birthday is Monday!

The pillsbury sugar free brownies are wonderful.... I'm with you on the cake.  Personally, on my b-day, I skipped the cake and food related celebrations & went to the movies.

Wow, I loved the sugar free Devil's Food Cake from Pillsbury. A little too much in fact...

If anyone you know is a baker, you can sub Splenda 1:1 for regular sugar in a cake. I've done it before and it turns out fine. For icing I usually use either sugar-free icing (also Pillsbury) or I do a cream cheese frosting with cream cheese, sugar free pudding mix and a bit of Splenda.

OR

For a whole new spin on your birthday you could do a cheesecake. Here's my WLS friendly cheesecake recipe. It works with or without added protein (and with or without the banana I included in this one):

Folks have told me they have used either a graham cracker or a Nilla Wafer crust instead of the Fiber One. I just like Fiber One a lot.

Hope you find something you like!

For icing you can also use sf pudding mix (dry) added into a container of Cool Whip Lite or Cool Whip Free.  You can use any flavor sf pudding you want.  I have used chocolate and it is good.

Has anyone ever tried one of the microwave cakes on theworldaccordingtoeggface.com? How are they? I've been trying to figure out what I want for my birthday next week, which will be exactly 1 month post op.

Oh my kids LOVE five minute cakes!

They are sort of bread-y though. But still very good. I smear them with sweetened cream cheese. YUM!
