Salads!
I started about 5 to 6 weeks out and didn't have any problems. My NUT said as long as I was getting enough protein in and staying within my calorie range that it would be okay. I would usually go to subway and get an oven roasted chicken salad w/all the veggies except bell pepper and never had any problems. Now of course I couldn't eat it all in one setting. I would eat a little here and there but no problems....

I am a little ove 5 weeks out and started eating salads at about 4 weeks out. I use lettuce, cheese, onion and minimal tortilla strips from the toppers isle. I also use oven-fried chicken.... I use the thin chicken strips, seasoned to taste and dipped in egg/soymilk before covering in the house of pantry mix or magic fry or shake and bake. I place in the oven at 425 for 10 minutes on one side, flip to the other side and bake for another 10-12 minutes. This makes for a nice meal and my family eats it also. I can only eat about fist full and I feel so satisfied.
I also use regular hidden valley ranch dressing, because I don't use enough to get in the way of weight loss.
Please keep in mind that every one here is different and what some do others wouldn't consider. It basically comes to personal taste, pouch resistance and opinion... what one would do and be successful with, others struggle.
I hope this helps.

I am 7 weeks out and just started eating raw veg last week. I do not use any salad dressings, just a little picante sauce, same as pre-op. I have had no problems with lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, mushrooms and shredded chicken, beans, or cottage cheese for protein. I make sure I chew every bite to mush consistency. I remove all the peelings, even on the tomatoes (dunk for 3 seconds in boiling water and the skin comes right off). I have even had coleslaw and no problems with the raw cabbage and shredded carrots.
The only veg/fruit I have had problems with have been watermelon, sweet peas and bananas. Probably from the high sugar contents.
