b12 question

ok   I know we need to get alot of b12  after  surgery  and we need a certian type due to malabsorption

I probally won't have surgery until the beginning of the year but   here is my question

I do 5hr energy drinks a couple of time a month now   it is loaded with b12 and niacin    are they ok  after???

If you have RNY you won't absorb B12 because the part of your intestine that absorbs it will be bypassed.  So, you will have to take a sublingual (drops or tablet), injections, or nasal spray.

Well, you won't absorb the B12 in them because after surgery you will not have enough intrinsic factor in your pouch to absorb B12 that you swallow.  You'll need to use sublinguals, the patch, the nasal spray or shots.

I'm not sure what the other ingredients are in those.  Do they have a lot of sugar?  A lot of caffeine?  A lot of calories?
