I'm going to be out and about with family today, and may stop at Applebees for dinner.

I'm a month and four days post-op, what's the best and right thing to eat there for someone like me who haven't been out to long?

I am a little further out than you but when I went to Applebee's last weekend I got the smothered chicken. It was very good and moist too! It is a grilled chicken breast with sauteed onions, mushrooms and grilled peppers and melted cheese on top. It comes with a side of garlic mashed potatoes (w/skins - I didn't eat the skins) and a side of veggies. Just eat slowly and chew well. This made like 3 meals for me.

Applebee's is still tough for me at > 2yrs out to find a healthy choice. I don't see chili on their online menu but they do have nachoes so they may be able to do chili. Maybe the french onion soup?

The French Onion Soup was a great choice for me when I was that early post-op.  I could sit with
something in front of me, take my time eating, and enjoy the company without worrying about the
waste of money in buying food I couldn't eat.  After all, if you dump 1/2 a bowl of soup, what is it
going to matter???!

Enjoy the company, don't worry about the food!
