Plastic Surgery......So when can we have it????
my weight was stable about 3 months when I started shopping for a surgeon. I was about 18 months out. I will be 2 years out next month and had PS June 23 (at least the first round)
so my timeline
RNY 9/22/09
tummy tuck/mastopexy (breast lift) 6/23/11
UNPLANNED perforated ulcer surgery 8/2/11 (important because it sets my next plastics WAY BACK from the original plan)
next planned PS: thighs butt and back skin.... however I am now looking at September 2012 for that on the advice of my plastic surgeon who does not want me to go through any more surgery for at least a year....

Awwwww.... sorry you have to wait, Nessa. Hope your healing from your ulcer is going well. I've got to pay off the rest of my lbl/bl then I'm getting implants. But that will be it for me. My thighs will stay jiggly. Mentally I cannot handle any more surgeries.

I'm almost 200 lbs down at a year out. I'd love to do my tummy but I'd also really love to have a baby so those things don't exactly go together. The plastic surgeons I've consulted with or just spoken with seem to have a varying degree of appropriate time. One told me it's best to maintain a stable weight for a year combined with exercise before doing it and another told me 3 months of less than 5 lbs difference. Of all the patients and friends I've ever seen who did their arms - the scars are pretty bad. I'd rather have the wings than the scars. The tummy tuck, well, I carried most of my weight abdominally so that's going to be a definite for me. I know personally I'm not ready for it. I need to finish the losing process and stabilize while working out to see what my skin will do on it's own before trying to slice it off. That's my two cents though..
I had my arms done 15 months post-RNY. I reached goal weight the month before my brachioplasty. I HATED my arms and figured that even if I gained or lost, my arms would not change much so I got them done. I waited until almost 3 years out to get my lower body lift and breast lift. Personally I wanted to be sure my weight was stable since I was self-pay and did not want to spend that much money and screw up the results. I'm 7 weeks post-lbl/bl and love my results!!
