I'm tired of the belching, aren't you?

Since the time I came home from the hospital a month and week ago to now I'm constantly belching!

I know the first few weeks of belching were from the gas they put in me, but now I try to make sure I'm not gulping my water or eating anything that makes me gassy.

I belch like I'm entering a belching contest at a county fair or something!  It's not very ladylike and even my husband look at me because he thinks it's the ghost from "The Grudge" sitting behind him! LOL

I don't know if it's just indigestion or what!! Any ideas on how I can get rid of it?

I had that  problem for about a month, maybe a month and a half post op. Damned annoying.  You can try the Gas X strips, those helped me some.  Mostly I had to just ride it out.  As I learned to eat slower and take a pause between bites it started getting better...but that may have just been a coincidence.

lol - two years out and I still belch like that.  Some days are worse than others and I think for me it sometimes ties in to how fast I eat.  When I eat lunch at work I eat super slow because I play on the computer between bites. I rarely belch at lunch.   At home at dinnertme  I just .. well .. eat.  So I eat faster and then I belch really loudly.  Super unladylike.  Hopefully you'll outgrow it - a lot of us don't though.

My whole life I have never burped as much as I have in the past 3 1/2 months.  It's horribly embarrassing at times.

Before I had surgery, I could belch like I was going to a belching contest. When I went to the informational session with the surgeon, he mentioned that some people post op can have a problem with belching. Almost like its a side effect of the surgery. When he said this, I almost burst out laughing. I was thinking OMG. What am I going to be like post op. I come by it honestly. My mother who is very tiny can belch and make a sailor blush. My boyfriend just looks at me funny, and shakes his head when I do it. It can be annoying but oh well. Not to much I can do about it. I do notice that if I eat to much or fast I will do it more, some days are better then others.

I'm nearly jealous!  I can't belch no matter how much I try.    Sometimes it be nice to be able to have that pressure release back.

I am just 3 months out, but I only belch when I have eaten too much or too fast. It's my tell, that it's time to stop eating.
