I have had a wonderful time so far. Only problem is my chronic back pain but that was before too. I wasn't feeling good on Monday and couldn't keep anything down at all. Went back on liquids for a couple of days thought everything was good. Tried a pc of my protien bar today and water and hour later. Bam sick again. This time blood coming up. Saw the doc 2 x this week. He thinks I just stirred up things and irrtated my pouch. Starting the diet all over again from day 1 out of the hospital. Oh well things happen. Just the blood scared me a little bit though. Still glad I did this.....No buyers remorse

I know that is rough but I so admire your attitude.  I'm right behind you, sister...surgery a week from Monday.  What do you or your doc think caused this?

I am 7 weeks out and I haven't had a PB yet. Is it ok on your plan??

I would have been terrified of the blood. Feel better.

I am 9 days out and still on clear liquids, I have to be on them for 3 weeks to let my pouch heal. It is becoming harder but I am trying really hard to stick to it. I hope everything is ok, I hate that you have to start over but at least nothing is wrong and you can get right back on track.

Thanks everyone....Yes, I was allowed a protein bar as long as I chew, chew, and chewed. I have been able to eat canned chicken, refried beans, cottage cheese, and yogurt. I actually got sick on the cottage cheese monday and couldn't even keep down water. Really weird. Doctor thinks I just got ahead of myself and stirred things up. I just hate to throw up so I will follow his orders....Thanks for all the support

Shelly D.....i think that my little book i got at the beginning of my journey said that i would be on a liquid diet until my 1st week appt. which happens to be 5 days after my surgery.  Then i get to start pureed food.  How come your still on a liquid diet have you had some problems?

Good idea just following what the doc said and everything will work out good.  I have heard people say that if you follow what your suppose to do you shouldn't have problems.  But i can see if your feeling good you might want to try more.  Challenges..lol  might not be worth it if it was so easy huh?  keep going and good luck!

I did follow what my doc and NUT said. I was on liquids until week 2 then I was on pureed foods for 1 week. Was allowed to introduce other food little by little after that. Was doing great till last Monday when I think what happened was I was really busy at work and didn't eat on my schedule. I was all off and tried to eat my cottage cheese it didn't set well. When I got home from work I tried some string cheese and began to vomit right after. Was sick all night not even water stayed down. Called the doc and they said go back on the liquids. I did for 1 1/2 days and then tried maybe and inch of my protein bar that I have eaten prior. It made me feel bad too. Then tried the water an hour later. All came up and blood too. Scared me to death. Doctor said I just need to baby my pouch for a few days and take it one day at a time again.

One day at a time....
