Did they give you anything for the ulcer like Carafate?  It helped me out tremendously!  As long as I took it 30 minutes before I ate, everything tasted ok, went down, and stayed down.  I liked pudding the most when I had my ulcers.

Most surgeons place patients on Prilosec or a similar product for the first 90 days or so to help prevent this issue.  Tastebuds are also very "touchy" the first few weeks post op. Many have issues finding foods with taste they can tolerate. DAVE

A few questions - I cant tell from your picture or profile - how far out are you?  After having RNY, you should have been put on a PPI - protonix, prevacid, nexium or prilosec for atleast the first 6 months and many prescribe for a year or more.  This is for this exact reason, to protect the pouch from acid to prevent ulcers and reflux.  If you aren't already on one, get on one NOW!!!!!!!!!  I gather these were found during an Endoscopy - were you tested for HPylori?  IF it was positive, you need to be put on a prevpac which is 2 antibiotics and prevacid since HPylori is a bacteria that causes ulcers.  Did you have an endoscopy preop to test for HPylori? Many people that get ulcers soon after surgery get them for 2 reasons, either they weren't tested for HPylori preop and probably had it and didn't know it, so when exposed to high levels of acid, it caused the ulcers and the other reason is no PPI's prescribed or not for long enough.   You need to find out if you were tested now for HPylori because if it is positive, your ulcers will never heal without the antibiotics.

What treatment did your surgeon or gastro doctor give you for the ulcers?  Prevpac?  PPI and carafate?  Make sure you take all the required meds because if you have 2 ulcers you want to make sure they heal before any complications can set in.  You also want to be rescoped to make sure they are healed in a couple of months.

As far as foods, stay away from any citrus, milk products, tomato products, spicy foods.  Eat small frequent meals to avoid your stomach being empty.
