Were You Suspended In The Air on the Operating Table?

You are not suspended by your armpits for RNY surgery. In fact you are flat on your back. Your arms might be out to your side and they are supported on padded arm boards. Personally, i asked for one of my arms to be tucked at my side because of an old rotator cuff injury.

The back pain is from hours on a hard OR table. They even probably put a pillow behind your knees to take pressure off your lower back..

I was told that I was strapped down and the strap was across my pelvic area and hip.  The reason they strap you down is because they have to stand you up during the procedure to get your bowel down and out of the way. Well the strap apparently was too tight and has pinched a nerve in my right outer upper thigh near my hip and it's killing me. I have tried ice and heat and walking but walking makes it hurt more. I'm 4 weeks post op and only lost 30lbs because I can't exercise. I'm very discouraged.

I have really bad tailbone pain. The severity of it went away. I do still have it occasionally if I am in a certain position. Then I just flip to my side and give my booty a break.
Hope you feel better.
